Nintendo decides to drop their creators' program

Nintendo decides to drop their creators' program

Yeah, it took them nearly five years to finally understand how streaming works.  Since the N64, I felt the Big N was completely out of touch.  And, this was the reason Square left N for greener lands.  When YT came along, they wanted to put tight restrictions on people putting gameplay on videos.  Every decision they made would be seen as being behind the times.  The creators’ program was no different and people stopped playing and streaming games.

From Variety.com ((The Creators Program allowed YouTubers to use copyrighted Nintendo materials in their videos, but it also forced creators to split their advertising revenues with the company. Anyone who wasn’t part of the program risked having their videos flagged and/or demonetized.))

Yeah, the Wii U would have been a bigger hit if they let normal people stream their first party games.  Anyway, it is good to see N step away from this stupid idea...finally.

Time Travel in Red Dead Redemption 2

Time Travel in Red Dead Redemption 2

Wow, this is a very cool side mission and pretty daring considering that RDR universe is more of a serious series than GTA.  The beat around the bush with the time travel thing, but I love that they reveal that the baby is the same person you encountered earlier in the game.  Given the main character is just a cowboy, he just shrugs it off.  I love these little mysteries.

BTW, it also connects to the cult in the GTA 4-5 universe.

Nothing But Trouble: About that Penis Nose

Nothing But Trouble: About that Penis Nose

Here's a misconception about the Nothing But Trouble movie. Yes, Judge Alvin 'J.P' Valkenheiser does have a penis nose, but only in a couple of scenes. They slipped it in, pun intended, without people noticing as a joke. People think Aykroyd's character always has the penis nose. It is strongly implied it is in Chevy Chase's character's mind.
From IMDB, ((If you look closely at Dan Aykroyd's make-up when he is eating the hot dog and Chevy Chase makes a funny face, the tip of his nose is in the shape of a penis. ))
So, the production had to film Aykroyd without the penis nose and switch it in for one second. Clever. BTW, the dinner is scene is one of the strangest scenes ever and clearly went on longer, but was shortened.
Here's the kicker. The penis nose shows up at the end of the movie too and gets a close up Check it out.

Blade (That Japanese School Girl Rap group) (AKA Bang Wa Cherry)

Blade (That Japanese School Girl Rap group) (AKA Bang Wa Cherry)
When looking through my keyword searches, the “blade 2 Japanese girls rapping ” always comes up. I did a post years ago and I am too lazy to look it up. I remember that strange scene in the first Blade movie where two grown Japanese women are rapping to a bunch of dudes with sunglasses. The movie never makes it clear if the girls or the men in the audience are vampires. However, a couple of the Japanese men look up and recognize Blade. I just found the scene interesting.
Anyway, the name of the song is “Chin Chin” and the name of the group is Bang Wa Cherry.
Someone in comments of the above YT video said this about the song. ((Sino Deutsch3 years agoI showed a Japanese girl this song, and she freaked out, embarrassed and shocked.... ...apparently the lyrics are very dirty about school girls, their private parts, and old men so.... naturally i made it my ringtone))
Well, Blade is an R-rated movie and listening to back-beat of the song reveals sexual sighs...so. Also, the women in the movie are the women performing the song. “Chin Chin” is loosely a slang word for penis in Japan and a fried food in Nigeria. Which one do you think they're talking about?
So, what about the group Bang Wa Cherry? Supposedly, Kyoko Kuriyama and Mesuko Takahime are the two members and were made up for the film. That seems odd because today they would have just hired a real band. However, the last part can't be completely confirmed. The reason I say this is because a Facebook post appears to claim that they were a group before the movie. They are unsigned as of 2017, but they still go around Asia performing.
Side Note: I still dig the song. Now, if Bang Wa Cherry would like to contact me for an interview, feel free.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (Part 1 of 2)

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (Part 1 of 2)

Okay, this new reboot vexes me.  On one hand, the storyline and certain character development is a something that carries over in each episode.  On the other hand, the show had some design and character problems.  I decided to watch the entire series and I feel the first season is a bit uneven.  It isn’t the total SJW mess that people predicted and it isn’t the shit that is Thundercats Roar.

It is loosely based on the old cartoon series from the 80s of the same name.  This remake does have some major issues with it tonal shifts in the same manner as the My Little Pony.  Sure, the setting is the same (Etheria) and the characters have the same names as the earlier series.  Whereas the older series wanted to show us a strong female character, this series is more interested in showing us diversity and representation.  When you focus on just representation and diversity, the overall story suffers.

Representation is important, but you have to tell a compelling story first and foremost.  Noelle Stevenson clearly wanted to put this Identify Politics stuff in the forefront, but somehow managed to also tell some interesting character moments.  Adora and Catra’s relationship is interesting and the most compelling thing in the series.  However, you can tell Noelle was more interested in this proto-lesbian relationship than the actual She-Ra lore.  When you have 12 episodes, you can balance the two.  I wanted to see more of Adora dealing with being a leader and superhero.   Don't forget that you're telling a She-Ra series, Noelle.

Despite Noelle pushing for identity politics in the She-Ra series, there are some interesting characters and character interactions.  Some of the Princesses are interesting and varied without it seeming preachy.  Yet, Noelle becomes her own worst enemy because she wants to put identity politics in front of actual organic storytelling and characters development.  When there is a moment to introduce a romantic element between Glimmer, and Bow, the show completely goes out of its way to NOT make it about that and just have them being friends.  Why?

Let’s put away all the identity politics and look at the series on its own.  Does the series work?  Sometime...When the show focuses on character interaction and carrying over the central story.

Whereas the character stuff works, the design and animation are a mixed bag.  The design of the characters is a cross between anime and the Cal-Arts style.  I would have preferred a more of an anime style and there are shots where it does completely turn into an anime style.  Both styles don’t exactly work together.  Sometimes, the show wants to be an anime and other times a Cartoon Network style series.

The other thing I will give this series credit for is some of the character twists.  There are two major twists that I have to give the series writers credit for them.  Both Twists have to do with characters having heel-turns.  I know that certain people called a certain character switching a side.  I really like that aspect and the show foreshadows that heel turn fairly well.

Chipotle Thingy

First off, why are you even going to Chipotle?

Joking aside, this is pretty messed up.  When I was first writing this story, it seems to lean toward the black kids being mistreated with racism.  Now, it looks like the young guy was, in fact, dine-n-dash dude.  They tried to change the narrative toward their side and used racism as a media tool.

Chipotle few off the handle and fired the manager without doing some research.  After people started digging into this dude’s history, they discovered he was an asshole.

From NBC News, (("Based on our review, we have offered our manager her job back," Chipotle said in a statement. "While our normal protocol was not followed serving these customers, we publicly apologize to our manager for being put in this position. We will work to continue to ensure that we support a respectful workplace for our employees and our customers alike."))

At this point, I would have given the company the middle finger and looked for another job.

Kotaku, come on, man.

Kotaku, come on, man.
I am a huge fan of YongYea and his YT channel. I have to give Kotaku credit for some of its reporting, but sometimes it sides and refuses to report stories. Make sure to check out the discussion between Jason Schreier and YongYea. For the most part, the first few minutes are okay, but Jason gets more and more annoying.
There does seem to be this growing trend of hating YouTubers and normal Twitch streamers. I feel a little mad with the interaction between Jason Shreier. Shreier just comes across as pompous and rude toward YongYea. I believe YY is one of the fairest and straight to the point YouTuber out there.
I hate to say this, but Jason, go f' yourself.  Keep in mind this was the same guy that defended mico-transaction in gaming and attack critics of said practices.  And, you have to give Jason credit for being a good researcher and writer, but then he makes crazy statements like this...
Here's the problem with this statement.  When you are merely reporting the news "Objectivity" is important.  But to slant or not report on certain stories is problematic.  When it is an opinion piece, go all out with your opinions or political leanings.
