Because I am such a nerd/geek, I was checking out the comic book she was reading first before anything else. Yeah, she's reading a Spawn comic book. That's pretty much how I see the world, I look for pop culture references even when there's a cute “nerd” girl in the picture.
By the way, there is a Marvel poster on the left and a Spiderman one on the right.

Now, if she was holding a Rob Liefeld comic (post Marvel) I'd suspect something.
