Poochinski: Pilot Episode

Poochinski: Pilot Episode

While checking out Heavy.com's list on the worst TV shows, one little gem stood out. That gem was a pilot episode called Poochinski.

From the youtube description, ((Here it is! The notorious failed 1990 pilot Poochinski with Peter Boyle as a boorish cop killed in the line of duty whose soul is mystically transplanted into the body of his pet bulldog. The talking bulldog is taken in by his straight-laced partner and together they have to learn to live as wacky roommates while taking a bite out of crime. ))

Part 2

Part 3

Yes, the show's concept involved a human partner teaming up with a dead cop's spirit in a dog's body. Somehow, the dog is able to form words and sentences (more than what Joe the Plumber can handle), and he fights crime. The late character actor Peter Boyle played both the real Stanley Poochinski and the voice of the damn dog. Boyle looked like a lot like a bulldog, so that was good casting.

After watching the episode, I am amazed that it the show even got off the concept page let alone filming. The puppet version of the dog is terrible, but they didn't have CGI to create lip movements. The acting and writing is just plain bad.

So, who is to blame for this shit show besides NBC?

I can't really find out who created the show. I'm sure that person doesn't want anyone to know that he was brains behind Poochinski.

Yes, there even a facebook page to bring back the show. Huh?
