Knight and Day vs. Killers

Knight and Day vs. Killers

Man, these two movies seem a little bit too much alike for my liking.

Knight and Day trailer: Yeah, this one actually looks pretty good. Keep in mind I am not a fan of Cameron Diaz, and I hate Tom “Space Church” Cruise, but I like the trailer. The action looks amazing and some of the jokes are funny. You can tell they pumped a lot of money into the movie. We all know what happened last time Cruise and Diaz were in a movie together, we got Vanilla Sky.

It's coming out in August.

From the wiki page, ((Miller (Cruise) is a secret agent who goes on a blind date with unlucky-in-love June Havens (Diaz), and ends up pulling her into a serious yet comedic journey to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source. Matters are further complicated when Miller's former spymasters contact June and claim that Miller has suffered a psychotic breakdown in the past week, leaving her increasingly doubtful who she can trust. ))

Killers trailer: So, Ashton Kutcher is an undercover agent that falls in love with Katherine Heigl and doesn't tell her of his secret past. This movie looks completely horrible and shot horribly. It looks like Heigl is sleepwalking through her scenes and the action looks dull.

It comes out this week.

From the wiki page, ((While on vacation with her parents, Jennifer Kornfeldt, a beautiful young blonde, (Katherine Heigl) meets Spencer Aimes (Ashton Kutcher), a good looking single man. The two soon fall in love and continue their relationship back home, rushing into a quick marriage. Jen thinks she has found the perfect man and Spencer thinks he has found the perfect woman, but she doesn't know Spencer actually works for the CIA and often spends his days chasing and killing criminals. But, as is expected, their life is about to take a turn for worse when they discover one of their friends is actually contracted to kill the couple. ))

With stories so similar and the movies aiming for similar audiences, we may be looking at another Antz vs. A Bug's Life/Armageddon vs. Deep Impact thing going here. It should be noted that Lionsgate isn't showing Killers to critics.

Both movies just smell like the same damn movie concept to me.
