Tyrese Gibson and his Coca-Cola ad (Always Coca Cola)

Tyrese Gibson and his Coca-Cola ad (90s)

Most people totally forget that one of his earliest roles was playing a random bloke on a public bus singing the Coke song “Always Coca-Cola”. I always remembered the version where the entire bus erupts in applause, but this is not that version.

Heck, even in Transformers, I said, “Hey, it's that guy from that Coke ad!” Anyway, Tyrese almost didn't become the singing Coke ad guy. From the situation.co.uk

((One defining moment that lingers alongside the name Tyrese is the 1995 'Coca-Cola' television commercial. It was by singing the praises to this fizzy drink, that his career was launched. Who can forget those pearly whites he gave us at the end of the ad, which literally left people asking "Who is that Coca-Cola boy?" Shockingly Tyrese almost missed this opportunity by turning up two hours late for the audition. After pleading with the casting crew, he belted out his rendition of Montell Jordan's 'This Is How We Do It' and the rest, as they say is history. ))

Here are a few random notes

~Where in the heck did he get a copy of the Coca-Cola song? At that time, Napster wasn't really that big and I'm certain the music for the song wouldn't have appeared yet.

~Why aren't there any angry people telling him to “STFU and sit down”?

~Did he hook up with the rather cute black girl holding the Coke bottle?

How not to sing the song
