Leno, time to hang it up.

NBC, what have you done?

TMZ reported that The Jay Leno Show might get folded back into The Tonight Show. Then again, it might just get a 30-minute lead-in for Conan O’Brien’s Tonight Show. For months, everyone had been saying that NBC needed to pull the plug on the 10PM Leno show. Like every poor decision they made for the past two years, NBC wouldn’t hear it. Instead of trying to dig themselves out of a financial hole, they threw their hands up and said, “We give up. Let’s just save some money. Let’s just throw The Tonight Show on at 10PM.” They threw out five hours of expensive shows.

This was probably one of the worst decisions they’ve ever made.

Leno should really let Conan keep his show and Leno needs to walk away from The Tonight Show. Leno needs to take some time off and then he can start doing those Doritos ads again.

This is just really bad for Conan.

More Doritos ads from Jay Leno.

  1. From what I've heard, they are going to call Jay's show The Tonight Show, Conan's going back to Late Night and Jimmy Fallon is getting a new title for his.

And Conan's contract says they can start his show at 12:05. I thought that clause was in there because of those weeks where NBC shows a Tennis Recap after the local news during the Majors. I guess they had other thoughts in mind.

  2. Man, thanks for the info. This is turning into a major cluster-f' by 10. I just don't understand the undying loyalty of Leno from the NBC folks. He was going to leave and go to another network before all this 10PM mess started.

Let Conan try to do the show without Leno around.
