Twitter hacked...for about a hour. Uh, Wow...

Twitter gets hacked by “The Iranian Cyber Army”

http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/12/18/twitter.hacked/index.html

From CNN, ((The popular microblogging Web site Twitter was hacked overnight, leaving the millions who use the site tweetless.))

Uh, was this supposed to be harmful to the world? I mean you might have pissed off some “famous people”, hipsters and teenage girls. Actually, the ICA has managed to shut up millions of tweets, thus helping out the Internet. Was it their plan to shut up a bunch of micro-bloggers from tweeting about what they had for breakfast?

((Twitter became so fundamental in spreading news of the protests that followed that the U.S. State Department asked the company to delay a planned shutdown for maintenance.))

Yes, Twitter played a huge roll in getting the news out there, but in the end the network is still dominated by people with short attention spans, so they’ve all ready forgotten about it. The ICA might have just pissed off a bunch of teenage girls, and you really don’t want to do that.

I’m just trying to figure out what they planned on gaining with hacking an annoying social network.
