Meet the writer

Look for The Incredible Shrinking Man as his next project.

One of the writers of Meet Dave speaks up.

Bill Corbett, one of the writers of the early versions of the script that became Meet Dave talks about his experiences with writing the script and dealing with all the cooks in the kitchen.

I always wondered why they changed the title from Starship Dave to Meet Dave. The studio felt the name starship makes the movie feel too sci-fi for the normal audiences out there. I guess stupid people won't go see sci-fi films.

While I think the casting of Eddie Murphy hurts the film, I think if someone came up with a more adult and serious story, the concept probably could have worked. We get to see the human condition through alien eyes.

However, we're just getting more of the same Eddie Murphy shit. Could we see the dirtier side of Eddie in the new Beverly Hills Cop IV? Probably not, Mr. Ratner is involved.

I will give the producers credit for casting the very tight and pretty Elizabeth Banks in the movie. She's cute. Yes, she was the slut in The 40-year-old virgin that pleasured herself in the bathtub. Could this movie harm her career? I don't think so.
