I love that this movie going to be Rated R. This could be a new start for these tired franchises.

    My problem with this franchise has always been the timeline. If they took place in the far future, I'd be all over them. As it stands, I can't in good geekish conscience support this movie.

    MC: You're right, there seems to be a strong continuity and time line to these movies and the last AVP blew that out of the water.

    While Alien 3 was a mess, I did enjoy the fact that they ended the movie with the distress message from the first movie.
