4 Total Logic: This one opens up with the blaster beam and then moves into a Vulcan theme. Goldsmith asked his musicians to play this track without feeling. And, there really isn’t any feeling in that section. The track jumps into the Star Trek main theme, slightly faster than before, depicting Kirk’s arrival at San Fran.

5 Floating Office: This one is short. The only thing to note about this track is that Goldsmith reused this track as joke in the score Congo years later. It used at the beginning of Congo when the camera closes in on a satellite.

6 The Enterprise: This is the track many score fans talk about and for good reason, and this track is amazing. The main theme is repeated over and over again, yet played differently every time. This track works well in the film and on the CD.
