Great McCoy lines

I always found Dr. McCoy’s remarks funny. Here’s why…

after Spock comments that, mentally, V'ger is a child

Commander Leonard 'Bones' McCoy, M.D.: Spock, this "child" is about to wipe out every living thing on Earth. Now, what do you suggest we do? Spank it?
Commander Spock: It knows only that it needs, Commander. But, like so many of us... it does not know what.

Comment: There’s a similar line in Star Trek 4 McCoy says too. (So,This is the probe’s way of saying ‘Hello There’ to the people of Earth.)

[McCoy trying to discuss what death was like with Spock]
McCoy: C'mon Spock, it's me, McCoy. You really have gone where no man's gone before. Can't you tell me what it felt like?

Comment: Love this one, great stuff. Almost breaks the forth wall.

Kirk: Out of the way...
Policeman: Sorry, Doctor, I have strict orders...
[Gillian moans in pain]
McCoy: My God man. Do you want an acute case on your hands? This woman has immediate post-parandial, upper-abdominal distention.
[they enter the OR]
Kirk: What did you say she has?
McCoy: Cramps

General Chang: [prosecuting] Doctor McCoy. What is your current medical status?
McCoy: Well, apart from a bit of arthritis, I'd say pretty good.
Klingons: [actually laugh at the joke, much to McCoy's delight]

Comment: This is actually wrong, only one Klingon laughs in the crowded room, but McCoy is still satisfied with at least getting one Klingon to laugh. One of my favorites

Kirk and McCoy are beaming down to Regula One]
Spock: Jim, be careful.
McCoy: *We* will.

Comment: Doesn’t Spock care about McCoy too? How rude…

  1. my personal favorite is

"Where are we going?" Dr. McCoy

    "Where they went." Admiral Kirk

    "Suppose they went nowhere!" McCoy

"Then this will be your big chance to get away from it all." Kirk
