Fanny Packs Making a Comeback?

Fanny Packs

I was standing in a long azz line at Blockbuster, and I wasn’t paying attention to the guy in front of me. However, after he reached the counter, he reached down and unzipped his fanny pack. I raised an eyebrow in confusion. Are Fanny Packs back in style? Did I shift into a different universe where fanny packs never faded as a big craze of the 90s?

No, this grown man was wearing a freaking fanny pack…in public. Fanny packs were hugely popular back in the early 90s. It was around the time when Cross-Colors and Jam-shorts were still hot.

New rules on Fanny Packs are now in place.

Rule 1: No straight man shall wear a fanny pack in public. This goes for women as well.

Rule 2: Only people from the Arm Forces shall wear fanny packs. (They don’t call them Fanny packs in the military.)

Rule 3: It’s a male purse for goodness sake, stop trying to bring back dead fads. Get a wallet.

Enough!

  1. The only time I've ever worn anything like a fanny pack was when I travel overseas and don't feel comfortable with my wallet in my pocket. Then I'll have a slim pack underneath my shirt for protection. Anything else is just asking to be made fun of.
