Thiscould be a tie in with some viral marketing event with the old movie. But, what does this mean? Well, I lookedthrough Reddit and discovered a link to a story about this shortclip. It seems to be a promotionalthing connected to a bigger Super Bowl ad.

However, there arediscussions about a possible sequel to Ferris Bueller (not to beconfused with the lame TV show).

As I have writtenbefore, I love Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I remember when my motherrented the movie back in the day and I watched it.

I liked the complexrelationships and the notion of cheering on a character that cutsschool and is sort of a jerk to his friends. And, that's the thingabout the original movie, Ferris is a bit of a user when it comes tohis friends. Plus, there is a strange threesome thing going on withFerris, Cameron and Sloane. It isn't fully explored, but it iscertainly there. I could see Cameron and Sloane getting together.

And,keep in mind that this hasn't been the first time a sequel has beentalked about. Back when JohnHugheswas still alive, there was talk of a follow up movie. Fromthe wiki page, ((Broderickand Hughes stayed in touch for a while after production. "Wethought about a sequel to Ferris Bueller, where he'd be in college orat his first job, and the same kind of things would happen again. Butneither of us found a very exciting hook to that. Thenagain, this could just be for an ad for a product, and I am fine withthat. I would just love to see Broderick reprise the role, becausehe's been known for some real stinkers.

Is it still2004? I thought this show would have been HUGE back around 2004 or2005. But is ND still as popular? I have to say that I like theBeavis and Butthead style of animation. No matter what you do, you’re going to piss offsomeone or something. Now, that recentPriceline ad that kills of the Priceline character via a bus explosion, hasrubbed a certain organization the wrong way.

From CNN, ((The American BusAssociation is asking that Priceline pull an ad that shows its longtimespokesman William Shatner dying in a fiery bus explosion, saying that itbelieves the ad is in bad taste.))

Uh, if we use this form of logic, then this ad and Star TrekGenerations should offend bridge builders because Shatner died in both of thesescenes falling off a bridge. Is itreally in poor taste? I thought it wasrather funny, but the funniest part is Shatner cutting off the Priceline Negotiator theme song.

Every group has to be offended by something I guess.

My brotherdownloaded some programs to my computer and to my surprised my Googlehome page changed to the ever crappy searchqu page without mypermission. I was really pissed about this change too. Then, Iattempted to change my homepage back to Google and it wouldn't letme. I did some digging and came across somepeople that had the same problems with this annoying add-on.

I removed most ofthe parts of the program, but there are a few hidden elements withinthe Firefox version. Because, windows did a reset update and Inoticed the searchqu came back up in that browser.

Why would youwant to force someone to use your search engine in such a intrusivemanner?

While watchingthe commentary on the by Paw on the Blues Brother review, hementioned the Dixie Square Mall. I looked into the comment sectionand it was stated that the mall was being destroyed this month. Igot a little upset with that news.

The Dixie Square Mall chase from the classic movie The Blues Brothersis one of my favorite car chase scenes. The production companyrented the closed mall for about eight weeks.

-Yes, that was Frank Oz asking for a Miss Piggy doll.

-Right as the car cashes through the store, a woman can be seenjumping out of the way in the nick of time. And she crashes rightinto the side of a counter. That must have hurt!

-Also, you can see an R2-D2 toy in the lower right corner near thesame counter the woman crashes into at the 19 second mark.

-They destroyed a lot of things in the scene that would make my headspin. Some stores didn't want to be associated with the movie andhad their store faces changed.

From what I've read, the mall was closed before they started filmingthe Blue Brothers scene. So, they were able to really do a number tothe mall in that scene.

The kicker is the town didn't have the funds to destroy the mall, soit just sat there in decay for over 30 years. I can't believe no hasdecided to buy it or develop it. It is just a ghost town of twistedmetal and rust.

Iactually liked the Priceline ads with William Shatner. They were thefew ads I could actually watch and not be disgusted with them. Shatner turned the hammy Shatner up a notch for the ads. And, he wasthe face of Priceline. Now, there is talk of Shatner's characterliterally going off the deep end in a new ad for Monday.

This will be my last post on SOPA andcopyright laws for a while. However, theUS government has shutdown Megaupload.com without SOPA. They already have the power to shutdown sitesthat already have copyright infringing content.

And,they arrested the owners of the site through New Zealand. You don’t need to add more power to governmentbecause they can shutdown stuff in other countries. I can go into the reasons why there areproblems with this issue pre-SOPA, but I won’t.

However, people need to use this as way of proving you don’t need newlaws to stop copyright infringement. Themessy part is the profits that Mega received that don’t make this a black andwhite issue.

It is a real shame the US government doesn’tmove this swiftly against drug dealers or terrorists.

One very unhappy Banana

Man, I just love AuroraSnow. Anyone that knows me personally knows that I am a majorfan of Aurora Snow. I was into her “girl next door looks” aroundthe time these “girl next door” women started to push out thefake boobs and face-lifts women out. So, I got a little chuckle outof this video. SOPA and PIPA: A short thought

I've been sitting on the sidelines and not mentioning the bill at allon my site. I decided to sit and listen to both sides. I wascynical and didn't think people would have enough power to slow downthe bill, but the Internet surprised me again this week. Never hasthere been a more diverse group of Internet users from all colors andflavors coming together and protesting these bills.

However, MCdid a wonderful post on his blog. He brought up the abuse ofpower these copyright holders will have over the little people likeyou and me. If someone doesn't like my review on the Love Guru,what's to stop them from filing false copyright claims to shut me up? That's the part of SOPA and PIPA I don't like. If this bill passes,you will have to wonder how much groups like FOX or Scientology willabuse the powers. I don't want groups like Scientology to flag mefalsely for making fun of Xenu.

One thing the protests did do is bring these bills to light to thenon-tech savvy crowd. That was the most important part of theInternet protest yesterday that did some major good. Up until thatpoint, the large news media outlets did little to cover the story. Now, it is on every News site. It also had people at my work talkingabout the bill, and many of them aren't hip to these sort of things. A friend on Facebook changed her profile picture to a stop SOPApicture.

It was amazing watching people from the left and the right protestthis bill.

I lean toward less government in our lives, so naturally these billsare dangerous. If people can keep it up, more and more lawmakerswill turn away from these flawed bills. You've already made adifference.

RedTails: That George Lucas produced movie

Okay,the FX looks very good, but the dialogue leaves much to be desired. The story is based on the historical events of the Tuskegee Airmenprogram. George Lucas is producing the movie with his “Yes-Man”Rick McCallum, so that might turns some people off.

Thereare already rumblings with mixed reviews.

Ihave an huge issue with this movie. It was already made back in 1995withLaurenceFishburnestarring and they called it TheTuskegee Airmen. And, CubaGooding Jr. is in both Tuskegee Airmen movies! That moviehandled the depiction of the Airmen very well. So, you know thatpeople are going to compare these two movies. And, it doesn't helpwhen you have the same actor in both movies.

And,because Lucas is involved, be prepared for Lucas-backlash because ofhis past record.

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

Finally, there is a spoof movie that does the wholespoof thing right. It stands on its ownas standalone movie, but clearly takes the piss out of horror movies. I actually laughed a great deal with some ofthe scenes. And, I like both Tucker andDale as characters. The movie is silly,doesn’t fall into the “spoof movie” mode of jokes.

The movie is about a group of college kids going toa camping site out in the middle of nowhere. They encounter some hillbillies that are mostly harmless and rather buffoonishand laughable. Through a series ofmisunderstandings, the college kids and hillbillies clash and a lot of peopledie or get hurt.

It is like the college kids are in horror movie,while the hillbillies, Tucker and Dale, are in a slapstick movie. TylerLabine does a great job playing the loveable Dale. He seems to make him more than a stupidhillbilly. Then again, the movie isabout breaking stereotypes. His friendTucker is played wonderfully by AlanTudyk (Firefly). He seems to be agood guy too, if a little simple. Iloved his scenes with the bees and the wood chipper.

The rest of the cast is merely a group of teenagersthat behave like teens do in these sorts of movies, except they are a littledumber. And, that’s part of the fun ofT&D. They have no idea their fallinginto the same clichés those modern movies tend to set up. They view Tucker and Dale as inbred rednecksout to kill them.

The standout character from the college group isJesse Moss. He plays the unstable teenthat has some problems and is the main reason the group gets into the trouble they’rein. He slowly descends into madness, whichI found humorous.

The gore is the movie is intense, but people haveseen this type of gore before. And, itis done in such a goofy manner that it shouldn’t offend too many people. And, the gore FX is really good and rivalsother modern horror films from today.

The movie does feel a little long, but that is aminor gripe. The movie isn’t foreveryone, but it is a rather funny dark comedy. It can stand by itself as movie, but it is afun send up to horror movies too.

Grade: B-

Iremember Madonna taking a jab at Gaga earlier last year. ThenMadonna’s PR people came out said that she wasn’t talking badlyabout Gaga. I called it BS, because they didn’t want thebacklash from the Gaga fans. For years, many of Gaga’scritics have stated that Gaga is just a remix version of Madonna.

Thisall came to a head when Gaga released “Born This Way”, and it hadan uncanny similarity to “Express Yourself”.

Now,Madonna has really leaned into Gaga.

Man,that's is a low blow, but I like it. I really don't like Madonna asa person, but she does have a point here. However, I can see theother side of the issue with Gaga's fans. They probably see Madonnabeing a bitter old woman that's jealous of the attention that Gaga'sgotten. However, Born This Way relies too heavily on the techno-junkto even be a good copy of the original.

And,I have my own problems with Madonna, but she is in the right in thisstory. (However, she won't stay away from making movies, even thougheveryone tells her she can't act or direct.)

Ihave agree that Born This Way is a reductive version of ExpressYourself. I'm fine with remakes and remixes, I just want Gaga toadmit it.

Bothsongs certainly make for some nice mashups.

Trespass

Trespass isn’t a bad film overall, but I can see whythis Joel Schumacher film didn’t receive a widerelease in North America. The film hassome strange characteristics that do not fit with rest of the movie, such asflashbacks.

The movie is about a diamond dealer that finds him andhis family thrown into a tense situation due to a brutal home invasion.

Somewhere, there is a good hostage/heist movie trying toclaw its way out. Some poor decisionsforce this simple premise into corny and foolish territory

The biggest problem with the movie is the decision toput Nicolas Cage intothe leading role. Cage has been bothbox office and critic poison for many years now. Putting him into your movie is guaranteed to harm the movie. Cage does his usual shouting and gruntingthat has made him famous. WhileSchumacher has toned down Cage’s outrageous mannerisms, Cage’s overacting doesbring you out of the movie sometimes.

Nicole Kidman is plain and boring in the role of theunhappy wife. I was wondering if shewasn’t just channeling her contempt with the script. However, Liana Liberato isn’t bad as the “troublesome teenagedaughter”, but it is the cliché character that makes that her performancedull.

There are a couple of twists, but you won’t really careabout them because the movie doesn’t give a damn about the characters. And, to be fair, the movie borrows a bit toomuch from the better-written film Panic Room. They even have the looming heavy robber character that takes ittoo far written into the script. Youcan throw in a staple gun weapon scene just like in the action movies from the90s.

The clichés and the bland script bring this movie downconsiderably, and that’s sad because there are some good moments.

Schumacher does an okay job, but it does have a directto DVD look to it. He doesn’t seem tohave the same intense sense of tension like Phone Booth. This flawed movie has some interestingmoments, but the poor script and bad acting by Cage keep this movie from beinggood.

Grade: C-

Iwas rolling through school in one of the buildings when I saw Anakin Skywalkerstaring back at me in those pod racing glasses. I realized it was a Pepsi Vending Machine with the old Star Wars Episode1 cover from 1999. It has sat in thisbuilding from 1999 to this time and no one from Pepsi has changed it in thattime.

This is what it looks like.

Igot a good chuckle out of it and I can’t take my eyes off of it every time Ienter the building.

Itseems there are a few of these old1999 covers stillleft around the US and Canada.

Thiswas around the time when SW merchandising was overflowingto the point that was some backlash.

I remember some of my friends collecting these cans, that now aren't worth much.

Street Fighter: The Movie my thoughts

StreetFighter: The Movie

I had the misfortune or delight of watching StreetFighter, and not the terrible one from the 2000s, but the terrible one from the90s. I’m still torn choosing which SFmovie is the worst of the two.

The movie is bad and down right silly. I hated this movie when I was younger, butnow I just pity it.

~Guile: One of the worst aspects of the movie has to beJean-Claude Van Damme because his actingthroughout is wooden and terrible. And,that pep speech is laughable at best. When was Guile the main star of the SF series?

~ Did you know there was an addedpost credit scene to the movie? That was probably one of the cooler thingsin the movie. I guess they reallythought the movie was going to be a huge hit. It did make some money, but I think the bashing it received from criticsand audience stopped that sequel. I doknow that JCVD tried to make a sequel back in the early 2000s.

~The script is probably theweakest thing about the movie.

~ Ken and Ryu: What didthey do to these two characters? Ialways thought these two characters were the true main characters in the SF story. In this movie, they’re comedic characterswith questionable morals.

~Evil Lightening?: Yes, Bison gains flying powers and shoots lightening from hisfingers.

~ Raul Julia: He isn’t that bad, but a little over thetop. Why is he flying around at the endagain? I know he does it in the game,but it looks stupid.

~Kylie Minogue is terribleas Cammy and thankfully underused. Shedoes look good in the outfit.

With the other SF movie,something tells me they need to stop making these movies based on thisseries.

I logged into Facebook and discovered that two of my friendsposed for the Tebowing pictures. Iwanted to leave a comment comdemming them for their actions. Since they are my friends, I saidnothing.

Just like the stupid Duckface pictures, I’ve had enough ofthis meme. While some are doing it as agoof, others have a political lean to doing it.

I actually like this song. Perhaps, it is robotic beat with the some nice rapping fromJay-Z, Ja (Every thug needs a lady) Rule, and Amil. I heard this track on a local station found myself nodding head.

And, yes the song is all about sex and Jay-Z asking to“hit that”.

Since the video and the song were tied to the Rush Hourfilm, the good one, the late Chris Penn shows up in the video as abartender. We also get random clipsfrom the movie Rush Hour thrown in for good measure.

This song came out in 98 when hip-hop still had amixture of good rap and good music. This also marked the time when Ja Rule was still consider a good rapperand performer before 50 Cent made him into a joke and Ja co-staring with StevenSeagal.

Now, Amil has an interesting history. Jay-Z brought her up with him in a few ofhis hit tracks, such as this one. However, they had a bit of a falling out. They haven’t spoken since. I remember her from the Jay-Z videos, but I am willing to hear some ofher solo tracks, because she’s good in this song.

There is a story going aroundthat the huge hold out to GB3, Bill Murray, didn't like the script. The rumorgoes that he hated the script so much that he shredded it and sent back.

Fromthe National Enquirer, ((Then, after theysent him the latest reworked screenplay weeks ago, Murray fired back hisshocking answer – nailing the coffin shut forever – by sendingDan and Harold a box containing the new script SHREDDED into confetti, alongwith this nasty note: “No one wants to pay money to see fat, old men chasingghosts!” ))

I love the little note hesupposedly left on the box. While thisaction does fit with Murray’s past reactions to the script and concept of GB3,I’m not sure he’d go that far with it.

However, he did diss GB2before it was released. Plus, Murray isin a different place in his career. He’s into quirky movies that fit his quirky humor. GB3 wouldn’t fit in with that vibe now.

He is right that a bunch ofout of shape guys running around isn’t as appealing anymore. Plus, many of the younger moviegoers havenever seen Ghostbusters or even the cartoon show. I don’t think there is anaudience for the movie anymore. Plus,the creative team isn’t as creative anymore.

Dan Ackroyd agreed to make BluesBrothers 2000, and that was a total mess. I think he needs to stick to selling Crystal Skull Vodka and talkingabout UFOs. Harold Ramis wasresponsible for Year One. Theless said about the movie the better.

So, Murray has a point, butMurray did do two Garfield movies.

Allegedly, Ackroyd and Ramiswere pissed about receiving the script.

I think the 09 GB video game will be seen as a bettersequel than the third movie anyway.

Things that make you go "Hmmmm".

FilmSchool Rejects has a list of the top five shows that jumped the shark backin 2011. I wanted to add my three cents to some of the shows.

-Glee: Being a guy from a musical background, Iactually identified with the first season of Glee. I thought it was a quirky show with some nice 80s and 90s songs. And, I have a huge crush on HeatherMorris. Plus, Jane Lynch is outstandingas the villain/anti-hero. Somethinghappened to the show in the second season. Like FSR stated, an adgenda started to creep into the scripts and thecharacter started to become mouthpieces for views. I just stopped watching the show.

-Dexter: Man, this season started out so well, butended with such a thud. The lastepisode seemed like they weren’t even trying. Debra Morgan is in love with Dexter? Did we really need them to add that angle to the story? Hated that subplot so much. Can’t we have characters that are closewithout being in love…even brother and sister? (Excluding Game of Thrones)

-TrueBlood: I actually liked thisseason. Loved the addition of thewitches and fairies to the world. I amjust not sure where they are going to go with the next season. “Sookie is mine.”

A friend from work asked me to reviewthis music video.

I’ve never hated or like Lil Bow Wow,and I feel the same way with him now. Iknew he had some albums and showed up in a few movies. Heck, he was on Moesha and The Fast andFurious: Tokyo Drift. But, I just sawhim as another version of ABC or Kriss Kross.

Okay, the actual track isn’t thatbad. I’ve heard the background musicfrom somewhere, but I am not sure where. Where does this sample come from? And, I have give Bow Wow credit for not following some of the trendsthat current rap groups seem like to copy from each other.

However, the parts with Bow Wow muggingto the camera are a bit…goofy. He tugsat his NBA hat about 24 ½ times during the video (Yeah, I counted). I wouldn’t have noticed, but someone pointedit out to me.

I am even fine with the bragging raps,but the music video isn’t that good.

-Bow Weezy? Why does everyone throw in Weezy into their name now?

Hall Pass

Well, it isn’t the worstcomedy in the world, but there is something missing. This R-rated movie feels like it is trying hard to be edgy. The Farrelly brothers haven’t really grownsince the 90s, and it shows in this comedy.

Basically, two married men aregoing through a mid-life crisis. So,their wives give them a week “Hall Pass” to be with any women they wantto. We get to watch them try to getlaid. And, that’s pretty much the moviein a nutshell.

Plain and simple, Hall Pass isnot that funny. Some scenes go nowhere,while other scenes are purely there for shock value. There are a few laughs here and there, but I was left a littledisappointed.

Notes

-Owen Wilsonlooks very old in this movie and slightly out of shape. Maybe, he did that for the movie, but it istroubling because he was very fit a few years ago.

-Christina Applegate looksvery good, but is one of the worst characters in the film. She does something that I wasn’t a fanof. But, I will give the writers creditfor letting them turn her into a bad person.

-There is male and femalenudity. If anything else, there is an“extended” shot of male nudity that would make even Ray-J do a doubletake. I guess it was supposed to befunny seeing Wilson’s reaction to it, but it didn’t really work.

-A woman shits all over abathroom wall. Yes, she sneezes andspatters shit all over the wall and bathtub. I was more confused than anything else, because very little is mentionedof it after the scene. Did he clean upthe mess or let her shower? None ofthis is answered. I know it was thrownin for shock value, and it is like a rip-off of the 40 Year Old Virgin scenewhere a woman pukes on the main character.

Hall Pass is a missedopportunity that have dug deep into what women and men want in a marriage usinghumor to soften the blow. However, weget an uneven movie that feels like it has been through some re-shoots andre-writes. It is a movie that feels like it was ripped straight from the 90s. Everything is dated in this movie.

Bobby & PeterFarrelly, I know you can do better than this.

14. Andrew DiceClay: I would have rated him higher on the list. He might haveworked during the 80s and 90s, but now it come across as an earlier version ofthe Cable Guy act. Do you remember when he had that awful reality showthat got cancelled?

13. Margaret Cho: MC mentioned that she seems to keep bringing up her horrible time on her sitcomshow All American Girl and hasn’t let it go. She has slowly moved awayfrom being funny to being downright annoying.

Since the Agony Booth did a review on Batman Returns, I figured I'd add more of my thoughts on this depressing film.

Ah, this is Tim Burton’s art movie with Batman having acameo in it. It is so dark and drearywithout a strong plot. Burton hasalways been weak on plot. He is styleover substance.

Why does Catwoman have cat powers? She was just a normal cat burglar in thecomics and the cartoon show.

I just wished Burton would have left out Batmanaltogether and made his freaky little gothic movie, but this isn’t a Batmanmovie. Batman Forever is more ofa Batman movie than this dreary piece of film.

To be fair, Elfman’s score for “Returns” is verygood.

Holy, crap this is both badand good. I never came across thisinfomercial back in the 90s, but I would have loved it. The games look really horrible, but I can seewhat they were going for.

I love how the commercialkeeps using the word (Interactive).

Looking at the Wiki page, Sonyeven developed CD-IS called Green Book. It was a CD format used on the CDs in the CD-I.

Plus, Philips had the rightsto Nintendo characters after they attempted to develop a CD add-on to the SNES called theSNES-CD. The games were leftover rights from that scrapped deal betweenPhilips and Nintendo. Sony’sPlaystation would also emerge out of this twisted history too.

The Biggest problem with the CD-I was the pricetag. It went for 700 at launch. Plus, the Sega CD add-on sold better thanthe CD-I. And, that’s saying a lot. I vaguely remember reading about this gamesystem back in the day.

Ire-watched this stupid movie again on HBO for no reason other than Iwas bored. I would like to see the pitch-meeting. “You see thereis this mob guy that loses a duffel bag full of heads, and it turnsout to be funny.”

Plus,it is kind of sad seeing David Spade trying to save every scene withriffing. It just comes across as needing.

While I was standing in lineto buy a ticket for Mission Impossible 4 at my local theater, I witnessed astrange incident.

There were two little girlsabout 7 to 9 years old standing in front of the ticket window. They both had these confused expressions ontheir faces. Keep in mind this isChristmas Eve at 8:55 at night, and I saw no parent in sight.

“My I help who is next?” theticket lady said through the speaker.

The two little girls steppedup with money in hand. “Can we get twotickets for Young Adult?”

“Uh, do you have a parentaround, that movie is Rated-R?” the ticket lady asked.

They didn’t answer and stoodback away from the window. Whereexactly where they’re parents and why were they trying to get into a R-Ratedmovie? This is a late Saturday onChristmas Eve, no place for little kids.

I just found it odd.

I looked up Young Adult. Young Adult is written by DiabloCody, and ex-stripper. And, where's what the parent guide had to say aboutmovie's content. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

MI4 is a very entertaining follow up to the third filmand fits in nicely with that film. With complex action set pieces, the film moves along at a break-neckspeed. MI4 is a sharp action movie thatI enjoyed immensely. It has a lot ofenergy and humor.

BradBird stepped up to the plate, as this is his first live action film. Bird came from the animation field, butreally showed that he has the potential to be a great action director. Because this is his first live film, hisdistinct style isn’t really present. His movie style clearly is set in the same technique as producer J.J. Abrams’ stuff. I don’t have a problem with that either,because Abrams is a good director to follow.

Bird does a good job keeping the camera stilland showing us the action. Manyseasoned directors could learn a thing or two from him. He keeps things moving without that manydull scenes.

TomCruise is pretty much the same character as he was in the last threemovies. However, like third film,Cruise takes a side seat to the rest of the IMF team. I always felt the remake MI series should always be a team effortjust like the old TV series. I thinkit was good for Cruise to let the other characters in the movie get some goodscreen time, unlike the first two movies.

While I’ve never been a fan of Cruise theperson, he handles himself extremely well. The man runs like there’s no tomorrow. There is a certain scene at the very end that he acted pretty well in,which I won’t spoil.

Speaking of the rest of the IMF team, SimonPegg is having a lot of fun playing the gadget man, and it reminds me of hisrole as Scotty. This time around, hegets to play out in the field. So, theyexpanded his role.

Did I mention how much I found Paula Patton to be extremelysexy? She is one butt-kicking femaleagent that is very convincing in that role. She has a great moment seducing a media mogul from India that is veryfunny.

JeremyRenner is clearly set up as a potential replacement for Ethan Hunt.

One of the best set pieces has to be theentire Dubai section of the film. Notonly does Ethan climb a skyscraper, but he also chases a guy through asandstorm on foot and in a car.

There are layers upon layers of problems forthe team to deal with. And, that was myfavorite part about the movie.

The other aspect I really dug about the movieis the way it handles the continuity within the franchise. There are unaccredited cameos from otherestablished characters from the franchise that I had no idea were going to showup. I also like that they at leasttalked about a certain issue that Ethan had at the end of the last movieinvolving a certain person. And, theyhandled it in a touching manner.

MichaelGiacchino has returned to compose the film music, and his music ismuch better than his first installment (part III). He uses a few themes from part III, but most of the music isfresh for the new movie. It is fastpaced and bombastic, but quiet in some parts. I also like Giacchino’s new version of IM theme, which is different thanthe one used in the third. I loved thisscore a lot.

I only have two issues with the movie. One, the villains are a little weaker inthis story than the other films. Themotives are bit weaker and they don’t have the presence the other villains inthe series had. Two, I wanted more fromthe Russian secret police chasing after Ethan. There needed to be more for them to do in the story.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol is a verygood action movie with a lot of great scenes going for it. With its lighter tone, the movie doesn’tseem like a burden with its over 2 hour running time. Tom Cruise isn’t annoying and places his ego aside to let theother actors shine in the movie. Despite a few minor flaws, it is a very good follow-up to the thirdmovie.

Grade: B+

This track is probably my favorite track from the DarkKnight soundtrack. I like it because ofthe “hero” theme played proudly at the 2:11 mark. It is probably one of Zimmer’s themes of recent years.

For a $200 pair of shoes named after Michael Jordan, wasit really worth it? I’m glad to see theChristmas Spirit (Holiday Spirit, take that) is alive and well as the people atthe door step on the people on the floor.

As I kid and a teenager, I never bothered with buy theexpensive Nike shoes, because I didn’t see the point. I thought it was scam to trick kids into buying a pair of shoesover 200 bucks, yet these same kids barely have enough to buy a lunch atschool.

In a day and age where we have devices that can do ahundred things out of the box, why are people getting this excited about a pairof shoes?

Basically, Nike has been hyping this retro Air Concordsup for a while. They’re the same designas the ones from 1995. I liked theactual brand of Michael Jordan, minus Space Jam, but I just never got around tohis shoes.

Maybe, I am too old for this shit.

Iguess I am having a geek moment, because the trailer looks amazing. This is a Ridley Scott joint with write Damon Lindelof. Thetrailer looks amazing, if a little short. But, I love the factit only hints at what the story is about, thus giving us a guessinggame as to the story elements.

Thismovie actually started out as a direct prequel to Alien, but Scottchanged his mind. The wiki page states that this story will playwithin the universe of Alien, but will be standalone. I'm not sure Ibuy that because the “Space Jockey” from the first movie clearlymakes an appearance.

Anyonethat knows me are fully aware how much I love Alien. I thinkof that first film as an art-house horror movie. It is wonderfullycrafted with a great soft ending that suits it well. To top it off,Jerry Goldsmith's score is suits the film, (I still think they shouldhave used some of Goldsmith's rejected cues and tracks in thedirector's cut).

~Thetransport units certainly have style as the units in Aliens andAlien.

~Ifreaking love the design of the spacesuits. Clearly a nod toAlien.

~Theship has that worn feel as the Alien movie had.

~Theslow appearance of the title letters is clearly a tribute to theAlien movie from 79. Plus, the sonar (screaming) sound effectis clearly homage to Alien trailer.

I already covered Kim's“movie” in a post years ago on my blog. But, he did kidnap a director andforced him to make a rip-off Godzilla movie called Pulgasari. He also wantedShin Sang to help build the North Korean film industry. Pulgasari was a monsterthat ate metal and fought in the upraising of the poor people against a tyrant.(I am not making this upjust watch the movie on You Tube)

Plus, everyone remembers therather amusing depiction of Kim (Lil Kim as Bill Maher calls him) in the movieTeam America.

Side Note: The Creators ofSouth Park and Team America seem to slip in Star Trek References in all their movies.Kim Jong II seems to have a bug-like alien that leaves his mouth once he dies,just like Star Trek II and Star Trek TNG's episode “Conspiracy”.

~TattooedTeenage Alien Fighters: Yes, this show actually existed. Ittook its title in spirit to Teenage Mutant Turtles and Power Rangers. It makes Power Rangers look amazing compared to this show. Mybiggest problem with the show is that DiC Entertainment produced theshow. This was the same company that ran the GI Franchise into theground. The show only lasted one season with 40 episodes running 30minutes each. I remember watching this show years ago.

~Damnyou Eiffel 65...: Atwork, someone starting singing “Move Your Body” andsubconsciously I started to sing the song too without realizing whyit popped in my head. I realized it was because he was singing thesong and I simply got caught up into this Eiffel groove. I'mjust glad he didn't sing “I DJ with the fire.” Just rememberto move your body, everybody-everybody.

~BritneySpears is engaged...again: I would think someone would havetalked her out of marrying again. Granted, no one can be the biggestd-bag as K-Fed (K-Feed), but there is a huge chance this marriagewill not last that long. ~ChristianBale roughed up by Chinese police. Was this an outtake from theDark Knight? I have to give Bale credit for not taking the “bullbaiting” by the cops. Didyou know that the old Space Jam movie website is still up andrunning? While poking around Cracked.com, I came across amention of the damn SJ site still running as if the 90s are stillaround. And, thisstory passed me by, and everyonein the blog sphere has already talked about it. But, Iwanted to add my two cents to it.

Backin the day, most promotional sites looked exactly like this. It is alittle piece of 90s fluff for us to marvel and make fun of.

Fora 90’s website, it is pretty extensive with the various. The Behind Jam notes are an interesting read. They mentionDisney and Who Framed Roger Rabbit in their story. I find thisinteresting given the fact Disney and WB were and are long timerivals.

Alot of work went into the site to a sup-par movie, but today it justlooks so cute and tiny. I guess someone at WB just said, “screwit”, even after the DVD was released for this movie.

You, I actually liked the trailer. The movie seems to be a more grounded actionmovie than the sci-fi heavy first movie. It looks like there will be more ninja action and straight gun fightstuff.

It looks like it was a good decision to ditchStephenSommers, who I think relies too much on CGI, and bring anotherdirector. And, yes the trailer looksgood, but they did bring in director Jon Chu, the same director that made Step Up 2: The Streets and StepUp 3D and that might be a huge problem. Plus, he directed the documentary Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.

Did I mention that I love Bruce Willis moment in the trailer?

Damn you, Paramount, I am looking forward to the movie now.

Along with thatlittle Taco Bell dog, this advertising character was really annoying to say theleast. For some reason, the Noid enjoyedruining pizza. However, he would alwaysmeet his match with Domino’s Pizzas.

I never knew ifhe was a bunny or a mutant with long ears. He seemed to be a cheaper version of the Hamburglar. He even got his own video game! It was called “Yo! Noid” for the NES. They didn’t even bother making a new game forThe Noid. Capcom merely made some minorchanges to an already existing game from Japan. Think: “Shaq-Fu”.

On the flipside, Domino’s Pizza discounted this annoying little turd because a guy named KennethLamar Noid took the ads to heart and took a local Domino’s locationhostage. He thought the company wasmaking fun of him.

Look, I used to watch The Three Stoogesall the time when I used to visit my extended family in Memphis. I still love watching these little shortsfrom time to time, because they are certainly throwbacks to the old cartoonshows of that time period, they’re just doing it live.

However, something about this strangeremake makes me feel uneasy about the movie. Heck, I even liked the old film from the 2000s that detailed the livesbehind the actors. MichaelChiklis was f’ing great in that film.

This movie has been in development hell for years.

So, this trailer came around, and I don’t like it thatmuch. There are a few funny moments, butthe trailer totally loses me when the cast of Jersey Shore show up in thetrailer! That’s right the cast of JerseyShore cameo in the film. Are youfreaking serious?

Yes, you can clearly see Snooki at the end of thetrailer. Did someone even ask for acameo by Snooki in a Three Stooges movie? Does Snooki even know who they are? And, that’s the thing that bothersme the most about the trailer.

Then again, I have very little faith in the Farrelly after Stuck on You. If you want agood Three Stooges remake, just watch re-runs of Animaniacs.
