Deadpool (review)

Deadpool

A goofy and violent take on the comic book character of the same name. The movie isn't as great as many of its fans claim it to be, but it is a very cool movie that works most of the time. It is a funny movie that parodies other superhero movies, while giving us a proper origin story for Deadpool. You will like Ryan Reynolds and his double portrayal of Deadpool and Wade. It is certainly a must-see to believe as far as superhero movies go.
Director Tim Miller handles the sheer silly nature of Deadpool with the bigger picture of a revenge movie. Miller's action works within the context of the Deadpool view of things. There are even silly cartoon moments that mix with the more serous violent moments masterfully.
Ryan Reynolds is meant to play Deadpool. And, he played a rather muted version of him in that Wolverine movie, which this movie makes fun of a bit. Here, we're getting the full Reynolds. He's great as the edgy Wade, because Ryan gives his character a sense of humor even as the normal human character. Ryan goes even further as Deadpool. And, that's where the movie really picks up.
Reynolds also has a lot of scenes with Morena Baccarin. They have good yet strange chemistry together. I've always had a huge crush on Baccarin for a while now, so it is pleasing to see her here in all her glory. Sure, she is a “trope”, but she has her moments.
The other aspect is Deadpool enjoys breaking the fourth wall throughout the movie, yet it doesn't take away from the gritty revenge nature of the narrative. He brings up things like the timeline shift in the X-Men universe and the different actors playing him. And, he only breaks the fourth wall only as Deadpool and not as Wade. I really dug it a lot. Make sure to check out Deadpool's videogame for even more fourth wall breaking.
DP also shares some scenes with TJ Miller. Miller is funny as hell as the bartender that's friends with Wade/Deadpool. He seems to be improvising most of his lines, TJ is much better here than his poorly written role for Transformers 4.
What doesn't work is the middle act where Wade turns himself into a mutant. All the science scenes really grind the movie to a halt. It is a montage for the most part, but it doesn't work with the flow of the rest of the movie. It feels like something Fox wanted in their otherwise goofy movie.
So, is Deadpool even a hero? Well, the movie does address this question with the side characters of two of the X-Men. Some might not like their addiction to the film, I actually enjoyed the crossover and it shows that DP lives in the same universe.
The main villains are rather weak. However, Gina Carano as the sidekick villain is rather amusing especially with a certain wardrobe malfunction. She is much better in this role than in that Fast and Furious movie.
The only two down sides are the weak villains and the middle act. Other than those issues, I found Deadpool to be a funny bloody good action comedy. Note: This movie is note for children. Reyolds is born to play Deadpool and is the best thing about the movie. Somehow, they've made us cheer for an anti-hero.

So long, Vine.

So long, Vine.
From Medium.com, ((Since 2013, millions of people have turned to Vine to laugh at loops and see creativity unfold. Today, we are sharing the news that in the coming months we’ll be discontinuing the mobile app. ))
I had no idea it was in trouble of being shut down. I have very little interest in these trendy social media outlets such as Twitter and Vine. Hell, I get mad when I have to sign on to Facebook to look at a page. It kind of came to me as a surprise when I saw that Vine is being shut down.
I can't see how giving people six seconds is interesting or creative. The reason I think YouTube is successful is because it gives people time options. It just seems like something for people with six second attention spans and the “cool kids" to show how cool they are. Yet, when the site first came out, it was extremely popular. I would see the compilations on YT and not get it. I just ignored it after that and never looked back.
So, Vine died on the vine.  Sorry, I had to say the pun.
So, is Vine the next Stickam that everyone completely forgets about?
RIPD, Vine.

Google Maps Voice commands (Okay, Google)

Today, I turned on Google Maps and a prompt came on telling me about a voice commands. It said that I could tap on the mic icon or say “Okay, Google”. So, yeah I spoke to Google Maps. I asked about the ETA and it told me. I also asked about traffic and it gave me the traffic update on my route. That's very cool. (I guess this feature has been on the app for months, but only now prompted me to use it.)
Then I said, “Thank you, Google.”
“You're welcome,” Google replied back to me.
It is kind of creepy knowing it has manners.
At one point, I asked the ETA and it thought I said “GTA”!
“I don't what GTA means, sorry.”
Really, Google?
This new feature is liking having a new toy to play with.
BTW, Google owns Waze as well and uses the same VO actress for both apps. However, Waze's version sounds more robotic and stilted, whereas Google Maps sounds more human. .
Anyway, here are the list of commands you can give to Google. (You can even ask Google for the weather via Maps)
Side Note: I haven't asked Google Maps to find me a date, and I haven't been rude to Google Maps either. What will it say?

Is this supposed to be...funny? (Sorry not Funny)

Is this supposed to be...funny?
“Sorry, not funny. Insults are violence.” Please make this a meme shirt.
I honestly don't know how to place it in my mind. Is it a comedy skit or does this guy truly believe he's making a difference by “protesting” a stand up club. Are we going to see more of these “works of arts” on open-mic nights?
What happened to not showing up to events I find offensive or stupid?
I want to know about this non-comedian. I can't find nothing about this crusader against comedy.

Luke Cage (Part 1 of 2)

Luke Cage (Part 1 of 2)
This series isn't flawless, but it is a lot of fun. It has some uneven episodes, but it clearly has some of the strengths that the other Netflix shows have. Luke Cage is clearly the modern day . There are some pacing issues that Daredevil didn't have, but there is something really cool about this show. It entrenches itself into the 70s and 90s vibe of street culture. However, it also fits nicely into the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For the most part, Luke Cage is an enjoyable show. There are some flaws, but they don't bring the show down completely.
Luke Cage was introduced in Jessica Jones's series, but here we get into his background in full detail. The show does a masterful job showing us a guy that doesn't want to be a hero, but takes up the notion of a hero due to all the terrible things going on. We see when he has to take a stand. And, it doesn't come across as preachy either.
Luke Cage is a very good character. He is not as broody as Daredevil or as cynical as Jessica Jones. He is somewhere in the middle. He's a guy that doesn't want to be bothered with doing superhero stuff despite his super powers. He does change over the course of the series and I like that about this show. He becomes invested in Harlem.
Speaking of Harlem, it plays a central role in the show and plays a character in the show just like Hell's Kitchen does for DD. Luke Cage is the hero for minorities that live in drug and crime ridden locations. The show does a great job of conveying this without it being really silly and within reason. Like DD, Cage is a street level hero that beats the living crap out of street criminals.
Mike Colter is great as Luke Cage and was built for it. (And, like Tony Stark, he enjoys bedding the ladies.)
Cottonmouth is a very cool villain and a very worthy opponent for Luke Cage. He is a club owner and the top crime guy in Harlem. He is a more straight forward version of Kingpin. Kingpin stayed in the shadows, Cottonmouth likes to be front and center of the area he controls. He wants everyone to know him. Like Kingpin, he enjoys killing people with his bare hands. Mahershala Ali plays him so well that I think Marvel TV gives stiff competition to DC TV as far as villains go.
He is a slick gangster that is a counter to the good guy Luke Cage. Every scene they share is very fun to watch. You can feel the tension between the two. It is simply wonderful.

In the wings, there is another person involved in the Cottonmouth story line played by Alfre Woodard is a powerful political person. For her, putting on a good face is just as important as getting the dirty money from her cousin Cottonmouth. Yet, you can see some really bad things about her too.
It is very interesting to see her striking similarities to Hillary Clinton. Like Clinton, she seems to be indirectly connected to some shady things that keep coming up over and over again She has a darker side to herself too just like the president hopeful as well.
Shades (Theo Rossi) is another character/villain that has an ever growing presence in the show. I really dug how slippery his character was yet there are some things that I like about him. ( He played a similar character on SOA)
There are two different versions of the show. When the focus on the villains change, the show completely switches gears. It becomes less of a street exploitation show and more of a show like the other superhero shows. I like the first half of the season better, but I don't think they could have sustained that story line all the way through the 10+ episodes. However, the second half certainly has its own merits as well. The two main villains (and Shades) are interesting in a different fashion than Cottonmouth.

Smugglypuff

Smugglypuff
I love when memes grow out of things and have a life of their own. I loved the Hugh Mugus one and this one is almost as entertaining. Smugglypuff is a meme from another meme and she (he) has her own Know Your Meme page. This is a spinoff from the Trigglypuff meme.
(Note: The reason I call her a he is because she/he identifies as a male.)
I don't agree on 70% of the stuff Lauren Southern says or does, but she is right that the left has changed a great deal and become very extreme in its views. It is to the point that shutting down free speech is a option. This was something the far right used to do all the time, and now the far left is doing the same thing. And, it troubles me to see people I side with on certain issues act this way. The bullied have become the bullies. Is this the way things always turn out?
At this free speech event, one of the protesters attacked right leaning provoker Lauren Southern. Then, Smugglypuff rears her (his) head and claims she “didn't see nothing” to the cops. This launched a hundred memes due to her smug look at the camera as she lied to the police. Her smug look and flipping off the camera person gave her the Smugglypuff name. And, a meme was born.
Here is where it gets serious. Smuggly then stole a phone from a woman visiting the event. Smuggly took the phone and strolled off. She hid in a building and destroyed the phone. When you preform a criminal act, don't wear a bright yellow beanie.
Well, the city police arrested Smugglypuff. Here's the things; there is very little being reported on this arrest, so I can't cross confirm that she was arrested and charged.
BTW, the woman setting the pick (block) for Smugglypuff to escape is a staff member at the university.
Now, do I believe Smugglypuff should go to jail? Nope, but she (he) should be forced to pay in full the phone cost and issue an apology. She is a just a young teen with some misguided views and should grow out of it. Jail is not the answer, but she should pay for what she did. The person that should lose their job though is the woman that blocked the victim from catching Smugglypuff.
It is almost like a Where's Waldo picture.  Do you see Smugglypuff?

Random Things

Random Things
~Getting that mental help: I am working on getting a therapist this month. I fallen into such a bad runt that I have to get out of it. Plus, I have to find a way to not carry so much anger for my job. Even setting foot inside the place brings up major anger. And, getting through 3+ hours is too long for me. However, I have to deal with being there due to my healthcare. Because I am a night worker, it is hard to get in touch with people in the field. However, I am working on it.
~Pocket Dial: Remember when this was a huge problem? You would get that random call from a friend on your cell phone. And, the phone call would be of people talking to each other. You've been butt dialed. I had a friend that broke it off with his baby's mom and went on a date with another woman. He accidentally pocket dialed her. She sat there and listened to the entire date! And, then chewed him out over it. Really?
~Honest Trailers takes on Ghostbusters: And, I agree with them. I love that they talk about cutting off comments and they did...and it was just a joke, but it is very much a real thing. Even turning off comments is now a political statement or something. The movie didn't turn out the way anyone wanted, but it was neither a hit or a bomb. It was just there. And, thank you for making fun of the main villain. And, everyone hated the updated theme song.
~Joss Whedon wanting to do a Star Wars movie: I was going to talk him down from doing it due to the backlash he got on Twitter over Ultron. However, a standalone SW movie would work for him. Give him a bounty hunter SW movie and he'd do well with it. His cheeky writing would work in a SW franchise. I re-watched Ultron and I have enjoyed it even more.

Berenstain Bears: “Berenstein Bears” AVGN

Berenstain Bears: “Berenstein Bears” AVGN
I love this video by the AVGN.
I used to read these books as a child all the time. While I remember the “Berenstain Bears”, I can see how some people might remember them being the Berestein Bears.
From Wiki, ((Many people incorrectly remember the name of the series as the "Berenstein Bears". This confusion has generated multiple humorous theories to explain the memories, including an unannounced name change, time travel, or parallel universes and has been described as an instance of the Mandela effect ))
Yes, there has been a great deal of discussion on this issue and AVGN took it to the next level.
BTW, the Berenstain Bears are still popular today and have had many shows on the air.
I wish I still had those old childhood books. I never knew anything about the video games though.

Supergirl (season 2) thoughts

Supergirl (season 2) thoughts
The first episode is probably the best episode of the show I've seen since the Flash/Supergirl crossover.  This is classic Superman and Supergirl except with newer costumes. Why is it that DC TV seems to get it right, but the movie division can't?
Superman would show up off screen or in the distance in the first season, but now they are bringing him in front and center.
-Tyler Hoechlin is my Superman: He is a cross between the animated and the 70s/80s Superman. He plays the bumbling Clark Kent well and has the right amount of coolness when playing Superman. I know people are talking about giving him his own show, but I think he works better showing up here from time to time.
-Supergirl and Superman: I love seeing these two together. They have good chemistry together. I love seeing them work like a team right off the bat. Melissa Benoist works well with other superheroes.
-Superman The Movie and Superman II “happened” in this continuity: There are references to the final act of Superman 1 and Luthor's arrest. It is a nice nod to the 8os Superman movies. So, similar plot points happened in this continuity that came from the original series of movies. Very interesting.
-Miss Teschmacher!!!: Yes, this was a callback to the old Superman movie with the same name. Teschmacher worked for Luthor in the old movie, but works for Cat Grant in the new show. Another writer brought up an interesting point about her being an Luthor plant or it could be a clever reference and nothing more.
-Will we see Otis show up too? “Sorry, Mr. Luu-Thor.”: Given how bright and fluffy this show has become, why not have Luthor's goofy assistant show up?

Circuit City

Circuit City
“Where service is state of the art.”
I used to love going to these stores. It was like going to a toy store for nerds and geeks. I also remember when these stores started to disappear too and being replaced with Best Buy stores. Now, people flock to these stores on Black Friday. It was a more modern and bigger Radio Shack and without all the strange exclusives.
A Walmart grocery store now stands where the Circuit City store I was located.
Do retail stores generally have expiration dates? Is Best Buy next?

That awkward date... (Chris Chan)

That awkward date...
I've been on a Chris Chan rabbit hole for a few weeks now.
At times I feel bad for Chris Chan, then he gets creepy or says something homophobic or racist. I have been on some really bad awkward dates, but never this creepy. This is the incident where a female troll went on a “date” with Chris. Chris' father showed up on the date and this is the aftermath. A guy in a banana suit appeared and saved the female troll. You can hear the disappointment in his voice when banana guy shows up.
The female troll was certainly taking a lot of chances. Chris is a very dangerous person when it comes to women and you can hear some of that in this video. Also, this troll did her research and mentions his Wendy's job...where he got fired for scaring a child.
I haven't been on a date in years. Is going to the mall a proper first date location?

Bill Withers: Lovely Day

Bill Withers: Lovely Day
I had totally forgotten about this classic song until I reheard it on a rewatch of Roll Bounce. I loved this song growing up and it brings back memories of a more laid back time. I enjoy listening to Bill's laid back voice.
Did you know that Ray Parker Jr. played on this track? Yep, the guy that the Ghostbusters song. He played Guitar.
And, this song is famous for the long note that Bill holds at the end of the song. I've tried holding the note, but I always find myself out of air. I can hold the other ones, but not the super long one (18 seconds).
There was another version of this song that came out in 1987. It was called the Sunshine Mix. They added all the annoying stuff from the 80s into the song and it became popular again. I am not a huge fan of this mix.
Maroon 5 did an very good version of the song with more strings. Check it out. I like this version too.

Squeaking Bed as a beat (rap song) (Clean)

Squeaking Bed as a beat (rap song) (Clean)
I randomly remember hearing a very dirty song that used a bed squeaking as a beat. And, I put it Squeaking bed in a rap song and this popped up. It was right on target. This song is very dirty, but it has a clean version that played on the radio...so of clean version. And, when I say dirty I mean 2 Live Crew dirty. The name of the song is “Some Cut” by Trillville.
BTW, this song is over 11 years old. Damn, I feel old.

Power Rangers Trailer

Power Rangers Trailer
Okay, they got the "teens with attitude" right. However, it feels very-very 90s WB in some places in the trailer. This has me worried a bit. However, I am pleased they're not going for the corny/campy stuff from the series (The series got more serious as it went on though)
I loved seeing this creepy version of Rita. She feels more like a Marvel movie villain than a cheesy character that talks loud. Okay, I like what you're doing with her.I am down with Elizabeth Banks as Rita.
And, where is Bulk and Skull?
There WILL be an Alpha 5.
I didn't like the trendy song played at the beginning and some of the acting is a bit off.
I am not sure I could sit through a modern Rangers movies. We'll see.

Movie Critic Gets into some Big Trouble

Movie Critic Gets into some Big Trouble
I was going to write about this Trump (grab them) incident, but instead something more crazy came up on my side of the world with a movie blogger. Devin Faraci, former editor in chief of Birth.Movies.Death, made some tweets about the famous Trump Tapes on Twitter.
((The most telling thing about the Trump tape? He wasn't talking with his best friends. He was boasting to a TV host. ))
Then a female Twitter person replied with, (( @spacecrone, “quick question:  do you remember grabbing me by the p—y and bragging to our friends about it, telling them to smell your fingers?” ))
Damn.
And, then he made this damning statement in this reply. (( “I can only believe you and beg forgiveness for having been so vile.” ))
Either he's done this to so many women that he can't even remember it or he was so drunk that he can't remember. However, a statement like this puts a nail in your coffin. It just feels like he probably has done this in the past.
So, now he's lost his job as editor of his website. From Variety, ((In a message to friends and readers, Faraci wrote, “This weekend allegations were made about my past behavior. Because I take these types of claims seriously I feel my only honorable course of action is to step down from my position as Editor-in-Chief of Birth.Movies.Death. I will use the coming weeks and months to work on becoming a better person who is, I hope, worthy of the trust and loyalty of my friends and readers.” ))
Devin has always been a controversial figure. (Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Gamergate). It does not come as a shock that he has been accused of this thing. I wasn't a fan of his before this story broke, but I defended him when his co-host attacked GoodFellas on his podcast. However, I always viewed him as one of those pretentious reviewers that tried to add things to movies that weren't there. And, he condemned people for being on the wrong side of issues.
Make sure to read the other Tweets by the female tweeter.

Ghostbusters (2016) Part 3 of 3

 The Villain (sort of?)
The main villain is one of the worst bad guys I've seen since Battlefield Earth. This villain is in the form of the human named Rowan North, Rowan is played poorly by Neil Casey. Casey plays Rowan so weak and uninteresting that it brings down the film. Why not get a more menacing actor to play this character.
Rowan is supposed to be this nerd character that has a major chip on his shoulder. He feels like he's been pushed around and overlooked his whole life. He wants to see the world burn with crossing the undead world with the real world. That is pretty much his goal. Give us more, movie.
And, what was his point of killing himself anyway? What was the point? It falls for a weak villain in the same manner as GB2's main villain. Make him creepy, but not pathetic.
And, was this a bash against the nerd culture? The movie goes out of its way to put nerds/geeks in a bad light. And, using the promise of using a weepy-creepy outsider as your powerful villain seems like a cheap shot. Then, the makers of this movie turn Rowan into a CGI/Thor character that forces the government folks to dance.
The villain and the YouTube diss are really the only things that stick out as the director and studio having an axe to grind against its fanbase. Why weaken your movie by having this be your main villain? (Star Wars The Force Awakens does a better job giving us a weak minded yet menacing villain. Ren is a fanboy of Vader, but he is also deadly with his untapped power. It can be done.)
Why not have Charles Dance as your main villain instead? You have Dance in your movie and completely waste him. Dance lives to be the main villain.
Useless and Dropped Stuff
The government subplot is a new twist on the GB mythology, but that isn't fully realized and not fleshed out. The local and national governments talk badly about the GB in the media and thank them for solving problems behind the scene. However, this isn't fully realized with the time we have with this story. What was the point if it doesn't help the plot or make it funny? This government subplot has been around since the very beginning of the reboot's first draft. And, it doesn't work.
What about the actual ghostbusting? There is not much in the movie until the final part of the third act.
Here the thing; we don't get those montages of them doing their job and busting ghosts. We need to see them doing their job and busting ghosts. We see them bust one ghost..one.
Then there is the Bill Murray side story that shows the real problem the script. while the movie goes out of its way to have cameos from people from the first movie, Bill Murray sort of plays a certal role with the overall story...kind of. Bill's character is a non-believer in the ghost stuff and is against the GB team. (Bill goes out of his way to not care about being in the damn movie.) The GB team bust their asses to bust ONE ghost and they let it go in order to prove that ghosts are real. In the process, the ghost kills Bill Murray's character! The police show up and the entire plot point is dropped and no one references the scene after that. A Ghostbuster let loose a dangerous ghost and there is no pay off. (Huh?)
What was the point of catching, releasing the ghost and killing off Murray's character? Nothing.
It is a complete waste of plot and time. And, it makes the GBs look really bad.
In the End...
Despite all the controversy, the movie doesn't amount to anything good or that bad either. The movie feels unfinished and uneven. The writing feels like an early draft that was thrown into production with not much forethought. The movie doesn't hold a candle to the original. It doesn't even have the funny jokes the second movie had. However, the acting isn't that bad given the bad writing. The movie isn't well made, funny or entertaining, and that should be the issue people should be talking about. Ghostbusters isn't the train wreck or dumpster fire that its enemy wanted, but people shouldn't support it for its political aspects either.
It is just mundane and that shouldn't what comes from a Ghostbuster movie.

The Digital Homicide: How Not to Sue

The Digital Homicide: How Not to Sue
This whole Jim Sterling/Digital Homicide/Posters things had me glued to the seat to see what was going to happen next. And,you thought the Gawker downfall was amazing to watch.
From Techraptor ((Romine, who filed the lengthy subpoena on September 12th, showed evidence that 100 different users on Steam who have made statements about the indie developer in the past. Romine, who collected numerous photographs of several Steam users speaking negatively about their products, is demanding $18,000,000 by these 100 Steam users in damages for “personal injury.” Judge Eileen Willett sided with Romine, granting him a subpoena for “early discovery” to uncover the Steam user’s identities. ))
That's right they actually threaten to sue people who had bought their games and hated those games. Have you ever heard of such a thing?
Basically, DH makes (I use that work loosely) really bad videogames. And, people on Steam know it. So, to shut them up they went after their own customers and a VG critic. Then, Valve (Steam) removed all DH's games from their site. Valve didn't want a company that treated their users in such a hostile manner, so DH got the boot. Wouldn't you do the same?
In return, DH sued Valve too.
Here's the best part. DH are the ones that dismissed the lawsuit cases! And, yes, they're trying to dismiss the Jim Sterling case as well. They couldn't afford to sue all these people.
So, what has happened to Digital Homicide?
From techraptor.net, ((As far as digital homicide? It’s destroyed. It’s been stomped into the ground from a thousand directions and use is discontinued. I’m going back into the work force and watching what’s really going on. Not gaming media gossip – the real stories are in the legal documents. Not talking about mine. ))
Now, check out the video below that goes into detail why DH is hated so much and how they got into this current situation.

Learn2Law

Laci Green (Learn2Law)
Really. Laci? You put a strike (inquiry) against a woman's YouTube channel over using your image on a thumbnail. Uh, part of your channel uses thumbnail of other people. As far as certain political sides go, I probably lean toward the left more than the right, but this has me troubled about the left when shit like this goes down.
Copyright shouldn't be used as weapon. We literally have Jim Sterling being sued by a shitty indie video company for stating his own opinion. How about Bold Guy suing H3H3?
I love she could have destroyed this other YTer's opinion instead of striking her down. I have numerous left leaning views and you can debate the right fairly well, but striking down someone you don't agree with seems like a new low.
Here's the kicker...I actually like some of Laci Green's educational videos!. Ijust think she stepped into it with this copyright thing. She picked the wrong time for this to go down.
With her channel using all the thumbnails, the fact she doesn't get the irony is priceless.
Green did a response video to Phil's video.

Survey from the past

I came across this survey blog in my status listings for some reason. It hasn't been updated since 2010, so these surveys haven't been updated since then. Here is one I will be fooling around with as a kick back to those 2005-2010 blog postings of that era.

1. State your name: No, what's your name? How can I trust you with my name? Okay, my name is James.

2. State the name that your parents almost named you: I never asked. I was named after my father unfortunately.

3. Which of your relatives do you get along with the most?: I used to get along with my Uncles in Louisville, but one passed away and another is pretty messed up with substance abuse.

4. What was your first job?: I worked for Kroger when I was a teen. Looking back on it, it really sucked ass. I never met so many unhappy people.

5. Which of your relatives do you despise the most?: I don't know. Your mom.

6. Did anything embarassing happen this week?: I Shatner-ed my pants.

7. Do you miss your ex?: Wait, I had an ex? Why didn't you tell me?

8. Do you ever dream about your ex?: Where is this going, survey?

9. What is your favorite color of clothing to wear?: That is racist.

10. How do you wear your makeup?: The way your supposed to wear makeup (?).

11. What are some of your nicknames?: People just call me by my last name. I am not sure why. I have no reason to hate it but peopple have been calling me that for 20 years.

12. How many bedrooms are in your house?: I don't know. Anywhere I sleep is a bedroom.

13. How many bathrooms?: I shit in a bucket and piss in beer bottles. Joking aside...why would you even ask this? When I want to talk to a woman, I don't ask her how many bathrooms she's got.

14. Do you have a job?: I kind of have two jobs somewhat. I don't talk about my work that much in my blogs anymore.

Luke Cage: First Thoughts

Luke Cage: First Thoughts
Yeah, the first season premiered on Friday and I watched the first four episodes. It has its own vibe from everything else in the MCU. However it does fit in with the rest of the Netflix series of shows. I am really digging this show.
-Black Exploitation Feel: Even though it is set during our current times, it has a 70s feel to it with the way people talk and walk. Even some of the music has a Superfly/Shaft feel to it. It is a modern day exploitation show/film.
-The Incident: Like the other Netflix series, there are a lot of references to the first Avengers movie an the battle in New York. This has has a major impact to all the TV series based in the MCU. So far, you also get a Tony Stark shout-out.
-Smooth as ice: I like the way they handle Luke Cage and his position on intervening. Given how sensitive we are about sex and sexually, it is refreshing to see a hero that does like bedding women and has women throwing themselves at him. Besides Tony Stark, he is probably the superhero that gets the most booty in the MCU.
-Old School Outfit: There is even a reference to the old and goofy look of the original Luke outfit. Cage even remarks how silly he looks too. I love this bit.
-Great Female character: It is interesting to see a black female character in a positive, You don't get to see this on TV or in movies that much.
